03Service Description
Octavedrive offers three rental plans designed for local errands and short-window tasks:
PLAN A
Half-Day Errand Compact
A half-day compact rental for multi-stop tasks and nearby districts.
RM 480
PLAN B
Full-Day Errand Sedan
A full-day sedan rental for an errand-filled day across the city.
RM 1,700
PLAN C
Weeklong Errand Compact
A seven-day compact-class arrangement with a mid-week vehicle check.

Service availability is concentrated in Rawang and adjoining Selangor districts. Vehicle assignment depends on fleet readiness on the booked date. Octavedrive may propose an equivalent class where the originally selected unit is in scheduled maintenance.
04Booking & Renter Accounts
Octavedrive does not require a permanent online account. A booking is opened by submitting the enquiry form on the website or by writing to the office email. Renters are responsible for:
- Supplying accurate contact details and a readable copy of a valid driving licence at handover.
- Keeping booking confirmations safe and not sharing personal codes used during the handover.
- Informing the office promptly when contact information changes during an active rental.
05Renter Responsibilities
The renter agrees to use the vehicle in a careful and lawful manner, in line with Malaysian road traffic rules and the conditions described in these Terms.
Acceptable use
- Driving the vehicle within roads ordinarily used for passenger cars.
- Carrying personal items and small parcels suited to a passenger vehicle.
- Returning the vehicle to the agreed handover point in the condition received, allowing for ordinary wear.
Activities outside the rental scope
- Sub-letting the vehicle to a third party.
- Use for paid passenger transport or commercial courier work without prior written consent.
- Driving outside Peninsular Malaysia without notifying the office in advance.
- Carrying loads that exceed the vehicle's normal carrying capacity.
- Allowing a driver who is not listed on the handover form to operate the vehicle.
06Intellectual Property
The Octavedrive name, the "Errand Loop" visual identity, the website layout, the photography styling, and the textual content on the website are owned by Octavedrive or used under license. A renter receives a limited, non-exclusive permission to view the website for personal informational reading. Reproduction of the content for commercial use, or any redistribution of the brand assets, requires written consent from the office.
07Payment Terms
All amounts are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Pricing for the three plans is listed above and on the Solutions page of the website.
- A booking is held when an enquiry is confirmed in writing; payment is collected at the handover or by bank transfer ahead of the start time, as arranged with the office.
- Accepted methods include cash, online bank transfer, and DuitNow QR. Card payments may be accepted on request.
- A modest refundable deposit may be requested at handover, returned at the end of the booking once the vehicle has been inspected.
- Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the start time are refunded in full. Cancellations within 48 hours of the start time may carry a handling fee equal to one day of the booked rate.
- Late returns past the agreed window may attract an hourly fee at the office rate.
08Rental-Specific Terms
Handover and return
Handover takes place at the Octavedrive office in Rawang, unless an alternative location has been arranged in writing. The handover includes a calm walk-around of the vehicle, an odometer reading, and the signing of the handover form. Returns follow the same routine in reverse. The Full-Day Errand Sedan plan carries a return window of up to one hour past the booked end-time. Other plans accommodate a 15-minute return buffer.
Mileage
A standard mileage allowance applies to each plan; the Weeklong Errand Compact carries a daily allowance suited to ordinary errand patterns. Mileage above the allowance is charged at the rate listed on the handover form.
Fuel
Vehicles are handed over with the fuel level noted on the handover form. Returning the vehicle at the same fuel level is requested; where the level differs, the office may bill the fuel difference at retail rates.
Mid-week vehicle check (Plan C)
For the Weeklong Errand Compact plan, the office schedules a quick mid-week check on day four. The check takes around twenty minutes and confirms basic readiness such as tyre pressure, fluid levels, and the warning lamp panel.
Damage and incidents
Renters are asked to report any incident, traffic stop, or noticeable change in vehicle behaviour to the office line as soon as it is safe to do so. The office co-ordinates with its insurance partner where an assessment is required. Renter contribution amounts, if any, are described in the handover form.
09Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as available" basis within ordinary operating hours. The office does not provide warranties of suitability for particular tasks beyond the description of each plan. Recommendations shared informally by office staff, such as suggested driving routes, are offered for convenience and do not amount to professional advice. Renters remain responsible for road choices and for following posted traffic signs.
10Liability Cap
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, the aggregate liability of Octavedrive arising out of a single booking is capped at the rental fee paid for that booking. The office is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as missed appointments, lost business opportunities, or third-party scheduling impacts.
Force majeure events — including severe weather, unplanned road closures, large-scale power outages, and similar disruptions outside the office's reasonable control — may extend handover or return timing. In such cases the office and the renter co-operate in good faith to find a workable adjustment.
11Indemnification
The renter agrees to keep Octavedrive, its staff, and its insurance partners harmless from third-party claims that arise out of a renter's breach of these Terms, a renter's use of the vehicle outside the agreed scope, or a renter's failure to follow road traffic rules during the rental period.
12Termination
Either party may end an active rental ahead of the booked end-time:
- The renter may return the vehicle ahead of schedule; the rental fee for the booked window remains due, save for the cancellation rules in section 07.
- The office may end the rental where a serious breach of these Terms has occurred, such as use of the vehicle outside the agreed scope, falsified handover information, or a road safety risk.
Sections covering payment, intellectual property, liability cap, and dispute resolution survive the end of a rental.
13Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Selangor have jurisdiction over matters that cannot be settled by direct discussion.
Octavedrive favours an informal first-step resolution: the renter writes to the office, the office replies within seven working days, and both sides discuss a workable adjustment. Where a matter cannot be settled informally, parties may resort to mediation through the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) before turning to litigation.
14General Provisions
- Entire agreement: these Terms, the booking confirmation, and the handover form record the entire understanding between the parties for a given rental.
- Severability: if a provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Waiver: a delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: a renter may not transfer the rental to another person without the office's written consent.
- Notices: formal notices may be sent to the renter at the email address on file, and to Octavedrive at [email protected].
15Changes to Terms
These Terms may be revised from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page is refreshed when a change has been made. Material changes are also noted on the home page header bar for a short period. Continued use of the service after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
